Pink Puma - The Interview
Pink Puma has had an incredibly successful year, taking three amazing titles in the pole world in the past few months alone; Pole Fit Champion, Pole Art Champion and Ultimate Champion at the Pole Stars Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! Here she tells us all about her unique, signature moves (find The Flamingo lesson on the next page!), her trademark, vivid pink hair, her interesting introduction to the world of pole through Cirque du Soleil and her advice for all aspiring pole champions!
Champion Lesson - The Flamingo
Our gorgeous cover artist this month shares an awesome move, The Flamingo. Pink Puma’s creative juices were definitely flowing when she made this easy to follow yet killer lesson for everyone.
Pole Choreography Part 1, Pole Lesson
Welcome to the first installment of lessons from the wonderful Kristy Sellars! Kristy is a renowned, world class pole artist who we’ve loved and admired for a while here at Pole Dance Fitness Magazine, even before she graced the cover of our 7th issue. With her choreography famous in the pole world (check out her Flight Attendant performance), we’re excited to present a mini-choreography piece set to John Legend’s ‘All of Me’. Kristy has split the routine into three lessons to make it easier to learn and, most importantly, master.
A Pole Dance Recap of 2014
2014 has been a phenomenal year for Pole Dance Fitness & Aerial Arts Magazine! We’ve had 12 inspirational and mind-blowingly awesome pole artists grace our covers, each of them sharing a piece of their pole life in some candid and eye-opening interviews. Crazy anecdotes, from getting sent back to her home country at the airport due to a suitcase full of sexy pole shoes from Alisa Pleskova, to inspirational acts of courage and demonstrating what it’s like to follow a dream from Marion Crampe, we’ve got it all.
Supernova - Brigitte Bonin
Here we present interviews and stories with Supernovas from around the world. Exceptional women and men whose lives have been touched by pole dancing and who give back to the pole dance community in fun and interesting ways.
Bridge Roll - Contortion Training with Angie
This is a deep back bend stretch called the Bridge Roll. For this move it’s really important to open your spine up, which will release tension in your shoulders whilst helping to make your back more flexible. This will help you in many moves in your pole dance journey, giving you the flexibility and confidence to pull off more complicated moves in breathtaking style!
Recipe: Chunky Cinnamon Apple Muffins
Since it’s all chilly it’s obvious that I needed to try a recipe with apples and cinnamon! I actually just bought a ton of Fuji Apples from Trader Joe's and they were being eaten so slowly, so I knew they needed to face the heat of the oven.
Happy Polemas!
Now we all love Christmas... The good food, spending time with the family and taking time off from real life. Even if you're not a fan of Christmas hopefully you'll love a bit of time off from work or even that cosy feeling when you're inside with a nice hot chocolate when it's freezing outside. Throw in a pair of fluffy socks and it sounds like a fantastic day - well to me at least!
Half Back Flip
This is a great trick that actually doesn’t require an extensive amount of flexibility or super strong muscles, meaning that from beginner to expert, everyone can join in! It’s a fun trick to add into your choreography, or just to practice getting used to the pole.
Pole Move Demos
These demonstration videos were contributed by our friends at PoleDanceDictionary.com as supporting material to complement Pink Puma’s exclusive signature move champion lesson, The Flamingo, featured at the beginning of this issue. Have fun!
