Style File
In previous instalments of the Jazz Style File series, we looked at the basics of jazz and also at some cool ways that can spice up your chords. In this issue, we are going to turn our attention to soloing which is a whole lot of fun.
Rhythm Rules - Rock
In this section, we're going to look at a number of different approaches when it comes to playing Rock guitar. We will look at open power chords, moveable power chords, add9 power chords, moving triads, moving octaves, inverted power chords, and even single note riff-based approaches.

Gear - Guitar Effects.
The guitar truly is one of the most versatile instruments around. Not only in its application to various styles but also in a way that you can alter the sound of the instrument once you start getting into effects. When you start to think of the guitar as a sonic instrument and not focusing on the licks snd riffs a whole new world with endless possibilities opens up to you. Let's dive in!
Killer Apps to Improve your playing.
Since you're reading this on an iPad, iPhone, or possibly on any android devices, you're able to get your hands on some great apps that will assist you in improving your guitar skills. Let me show you a couple of my favourites!
Acoustic Guitar
Regardless of whether you like this style of music, it features some great acoustic guitar playing and I figured we'd look at some of the fingerpicking and rhythmic approaches along with a number of different ways to play the same chord progression. When you have a few different rhythmic and fingerpicking approaches up your sleeve along with some variety when it comes to chord voicings, then youll be way better equipped than the next guy who always plays the same chords at the same rhythm.
