- Teachers Self Care Calendar
- Dear Fellow Educator,
When I started thinking about the upcoming school year and the challenges that come with it, I knew immediately that myself and teachers across the country would need to be extra diligent about our self-care. We give up so much of ourselves, our time, our money, to our students and communities that it can become so easy to forget about doing the things that bring us joy.
The purpose of this calendar is to allow you to be intentional with relieving stress and focusing on the things you love so that they don’t get lost in the shuffle of a school year. Every week you'll see some of the same elements that are intended to help you keep space for the things that are important to you.
Calendar Components:
• Weekly Mantra: Each week there is a new mantra. Try writing it on a sticky note on your bathroom
mirror or somewhere else visible and say it out loud to yourself every day. These are all statements
framed in the positive to help you direct your energy to positive thoughts instead of letting the
negative ones creep in.
• Words from the Wise: A new quote each week for you to reflect on as you see fit.
• Self Care Grid: Four areas where you can list and describe what all you will do to make sure that your health, companionship, expression, and relaxation needs will be met each week.
• Focus Grid: In this space, select one area of selfcare to focus on for the week and make it happen
by listing at least one-specific action that will make it a reality.
I hope that you find this calendar useful, and that it helps you to stay motivated, yet grounded, throughout the upcoming school year.
I am happy to read your feedback as I work on more planners, and other materials, so please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns!
Wishing you all the best this year,
Kolbe Ricks
